About the Artist

Welcome!  My name is Marta Inez Serna.  I am a self-taught jewelry artist.  Many of my pieces are made using one of a kind components such as handcrafted lampwork and fused glass made by other artists.  I strive to obtain the best material and painstakingly sort the beads and findings I use in my creations.   My inspiration in the art...creating a piece that will be enjoyed by someone else as well.  A piece that will make someone happy and proud to wear it.  My hope is to instill in the wearer a feeling of beauty and an appreciation for the art.

My passion for jewelry making started in 1998 when I began making angel pins out of base metal components and jewelry glue.  I still have and wear my 1st pieces.  After my pin days, I began making illusion necklaces using monofilament cord, acrylic beads, and plated findings.  Then I discovered semiprecious stones, glass seed beads, freshwater pearls, sterling silver and gold filled findings.  I continue to research the art of jewelry making and look forward to learning new techniques and using different mediums.  The components and possibilities are endless.  Enjoy!
